A little more about myself, my name is Jennifer Forstner, I am 29 years old and a passionate climber.
I was born and raised in Vienna but I also grew up in Lower Austria with my grandparents.
I’ve always been interested in sports. As a child, I participated in all kinds of sport arts. I came across bouldering in my 20s.
By the first try, I already knew that this would become my never ending passion!
As I started with climbing it totally catched me. There are so many different ways to climb a route.
So many factors working together technique, agility, endurance, and creativity play major roles, but the most important thing (for me) is safety and trust in your climbing partner. Not only while bouldering but especially while sport climbing.
Climbing is like a dance with the wall, either you lead or you’re counterpart!
I’ve got my first work opportunity through my friends, that informed me about a new bouldering hall named „Blockfabrik“ in Vienna, they were looking for adaptions to their team, so I started to work there.
During my work- and free time with friends, we began to notice my growing love, passion and deep interest to help others with climbing.
It makes me happy to see people reaching their next step on the wall mentally and physically. I teach with passion to children, teenagers, adults, and elder people.
That’s why I chose to become a climbing instructor. Said and done.
After the indoor instructor, the outdoor instructor followed promptly and since then I have been educating myself steadily. You never stop learning, as the saying goes!
I worked as a climbing instructor at the ‘’Österreichischer Touristen Club’’ and ‘’Kletterhalle Wien‘’, until I decided to move to Kalymnos, after my first climbing holiday here.
I have been living here now since November 2022 and founded my company ‘’Discover with Jennifer“.
All year round, I offer activities for all groups ages, beginners to advanced.
The breathtaking beauty of climbing mecca in Kalymnos has a lot to offer and with over 4.600 routes on the island, there is something for everyone!
